How to Get Them to Sleep While On the Road ✩☾
I invested in the Lotus Bassinet Kit & Crib when Zoe was four months old right before a trip to Hawaii and it was truly the GREATEST. (Shep still sleeps in it every night in Zoe's room instead of his new big boy bunk beds in his room.) It folds into a backpack and we carry it on the plane just in case our layover is super long or the flight is canceled. Both kids slept in the bassinet when they were babies until they could sit up. It unzips, as well, so you can lay in there with them. I’ve tried other pack-and-plays and this was the best one all around.
This year, my mom will bring the hiccapop blow-up mattress for Shep. We are going to use the inflatable side rails for the two nights we are in Philadelphia without the blow-up mattress and if that goes well, we will just do that.
Zoe will sleep on the bed with the SlumberPod, which is AMAZING. It fits over any pack-and-play (and the hiccapop blow-up mattress) and now we just use it on a queen bed that keeps Zoe from falling off the bed and keeps it dark for her. Both kids have them and you can fit cameras in the top so you can see them. If you add white noise, you can close them up and have some privacy while they sleep. :)
For those in between times, I pack a blanket or something to use on the airplane if needed or put on the floor (depending on the baby's age), since NO floors are clean, lol.
